Wow, well I think miracle fruit has finally hit the mainstream. Today, CNN picked the trend and talked about miracle fruit and it’s potential ability to help cancer patients after chemotherapy.
“What happens in patients is the food tastes so metallic and bland, it becomes repulsive,” said Dr. Mike Cusnir, a lead researcher on the project and oncologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center. “Most of the patients undergoing chemotherapy have weight loss. I came across a very interesting article written by Donna McVicar Cannon. It is a comprehensive history, analysis, and safety review of the miracle fruit. It touches on early attempts at spreading it, as well as scientific endeavors to isolate the active glycoprotein, miraculin (the ingredient in our tabs!) It’s a little long, but it really shows how miracle fruit should be as common as an apple or orange, and why.
