Miracle Fruit Party
The Miracle fruit (and our tabs) contain a glycoprotein which binds to the sour receptors on the tongue. After using a tab, any food that was once sour will taste the opposite: very sweet! Try things like lemons, limes grapefruits & anything sour for a new sensory experience.
How to throw a miracle fruit party or fundraiser
Throwing a miracle fruit party makes for a very interesting evening to say the least. If you are 21+, enjoying it with alcohol can be a great way to host a party with friends and have some laughs and an unforgettable experience. It is best to have a wide variety of food and liquor (or fruit juices) available for everyone to sample. For an unique fundraiser, you can charge for a one miracle fruit tablet and a wide sample of sour foods.
So what are the best things to enjoy? You can decide, but here are a compilation of favorites from friends and myself after many, many tests. We usually use 2 miracle fruit tabs each for one night of testing.
Lemons and limes (try them thin sliced!) are a must. Oranges, Strawberries, Sorbet, Grapefruit, goat cheese, and green mangoes taste like a candy version of each fruit, it is very sweet and refreshing. You can also get demonstrate the effect of miracle fruit on other foods that are less appealing. Especially after drinking. Brussell sprouts, Mustard, Tabasco, Vinegar (especially balsamic) and pickles.
Drinks annnyone? Screwdriver, Cranberry-Vodka, Pineapple + Rum, SoCo Lime and Kamikaze shots, and straight tequila or straight rum are all excellent. Mixing booze and lemon juice is not advised, but everyone seems to try it. I would avoid wine and beer, as it will turn any wine to manischewitz and light beer into soda. FYI Miracle fruit has no effect on non acidic food i.e. breads, meats.
